The academic building is opening in four months and is getting closer to completion. In the weeks ahead the exterior skin – a mixture of cedar siding and cementitious panels – will be installed. Interior finishes including sheetrock, paint and acoustical ceilings are now being installed. Power to the building will be turned on next week and will allow for the startup of mechanical systems. Fiber optic and telephone cable will soon connect the academic building to the outside world.
The residence hall is nearing its final height, only roof trusses remain to be added on the west wing. Interior finishes are being installed on the fourth floor of the wing along Century Drive. Flashing and finish materials will be installed on the exterior of the building.
Exterior and interior walls are being framed on the dining building. This week, crews began lifting roof trusses into place and mechanical equipment is on site and will be lifted to the roof in the coming weeks.
