Back to Campus Construction Updates

July 8, 2016

Construction UpdateThis past Wednesday, June 29, marked the one-year anniversary of the day construction was initiated on OSU-Cascades’ new campus. We are looking forward to achieving additional milestones in the coming weeks.

The scaffolding has been removed from the residence hall, the building facing Century Ave., revealing a nearly-finished facade. Crews will  wrap up the new sidewalk, bus pull-out, and paving adjacent to the residence hall in the next two weeks. Crews will then move to Chandler Avenue, where additional road improvements will be constructed for pedestrian safety.

This week, crews also completed installation of the exterior skin on Tykeson Hall – with the exception of some cedar finish. The building interior is changing, too, as carpet, light fixtures and final coats of paint are going in. Finally, colleagues from our sister OSU campus in Corvallis visited to install the network infrastructure and phone system.

Mechanical and electrical systems are taking shape in the dining building and most of the plumbing is complete. The crews are now preparing the exterior of the building for finishes, which will begin in August.
