Back to Campus Construction Updates

Tykeson HallAs part of its development of the 10-acre campus, Oregon State University - Cascades will also make improvements to the adjacent city streets. Beginning June 20, crews will initiate work on Century Drive and then move to Chandler Avenue. The improvements are focused primarily on pedestrian safety and will enhance road crossings, lighting and sidewalks.

On the campus itself, installation of finish materials continues inside Tykeson Hall and the residence hall. This week equipment and casework began to arrive for the chemistry and biology labs in Tykeson Hall.

In the coming weeks, scaffolding will be removed from the side of the residence hall, giving the public the first clear view of the finished look! Windows and exterior finishes will begin to go onto the dining building as well.

The construction and planning team is celebrating OSU-Cascades' 15th Commencement, which will take place on Sunday, June 12. The Class of 2016 is the largest in OSU-Cascades history, with 379 students receiving bachelor's and master's degrees. This class paved the way for our very first true freshman class, members of which finished up their first academic year this week. These freshmen and other continuing students will return to class this fall on the brand-new campus.

With opening day about three months away, progress on the new OSU-Cascades continues at a steady pace.
