Tykeson Hall is looking more complete – inside and out! Most of the exterior finish material is installed on the north and west sides of the building. The finishes will be installed on the other two sides in the weeks ahead. On the interior of the building, restrooms are being tiled, floors finished, and ceilings painted in preparation for restroom fixtures, AV equipment, and light fixtures.
The final roof trusses will soon be installed on the residence hall, followed by metal roofing. Additional scaffolding will be put in place to install the cedar siding on the building.
Mechanical equipment was placed on the dining building roof this week. Most of the interior walls are framed and being prepared for sheet rock. Ductwork, plumbing, and electrical systems for the building – especially the kitchen that will soon serve the campus – are just starting to take shape.
As opening day quickly approaches, OSU-Cascades staff members are working diligently to make sure furniture is installed, IT systems are working, and that faculty and students are excited and ready for this historic opening.
