Participants

If you are an undergraduate or graduate student at OSU-Cascades and have been working on a research project, capstone, or other form of scholarship, we encourage you to participate in the annual Cascades Research and Scholarship Symposium.

Why should I participate?

You’ve put in a lot of hard work, so why not show it off? Presenting and discussing your work with students, faculty and the community provides a great opportunity to learn and grow within your discipline, and fine tune your critical thinking and creativity skills. Also, presenting at this symposium is an achievement future graduate programs and employers value. Participants receive a certificate of completion after the event.

What does participation entail?

Participants must:

  • Attend the entire event
  • Design a 4’ X 3’ poster describing their project
  • Submit a final title and description

How do I participate?

Interested in participating? To participate you need to find a faculty sponsor and submit an application by Friday, May 5.

Submit an application to present by clicking the following link, filling out the form, and hitting submit! Please only submit once per poster. Click here for the form.

Poster Printing

Submit posters for printing by Wednesday, May 17 at 11:59 p.m. Follow these steps to submit for FREE poster printing:

If you miss this deadline, there are a limited number of opportunities to print your poster at OSU Cascades, however, this will require you to perform the printing. If you already have a poster printed, or you will be printing this yourself, then you only need to make certain that you are signed up to “participate” in the event (see above).

Where can I get help?

The library’s website has tips and resources for research and poster development. Visit the library in Tykeson 202 for assistance in-person, or via email at library@osucascades.edu.

Attend the following events to perfect your poster, and elevator pitch:
