Employers can easily post job, internship and volunteer opportunities at no cost for OSU-Cascades students and alumni on our online recruiting system Beaver Careers - Cascades.

Registration

  1. Go to Beaver Careers - Cascades
  2. Click on “Click Here to Register!”
  3. Enter the name of your organization to determine if it is already listed with us. If it is not, click on “Can’t Find Your Organization?” If your company name is found, select it from the list and click on “Continue”
  4. Enter the requested information, paying particular attention to required fields (*). Be sure to fill out both the general employer information and your unique contact information. You are given the option to include or exclude each set of information in our Employer Directory, which is searchable by job-seekers.
  5. Click “Register” at the top or bottom of the page.
  6. On the following page, click “Submit Profile.”
  7. Once you click “Submit Profile.” you will be directed to the employer homepage. Your profile will be submitted to our system administrators for approval.  Once your profile has been approved, you will be notified by email. You are free to begin posting opportunities before your profile has been approved. 

Posting a Job, Internship or Volunteer Opportunity

  1. Login to Beaver Careers - Cascades
  2. On the top navigation bar, hover over “My Jobs” and select “New Job”.
  3.  Provide an informative job title and as much detailed information as possible about the position responsibilities, who should apply, and how they should apply.  *Pay particular attention to required fields
  4. Please select all relevant job categories by using your Control (Ctrl) key
  5.  If you wish to solicit specific majors, under “Majors:” select the “Add/Remove” button then click the + sign to expand the list and check the relevant majors, then click “Continue.” If your position is not restricted to specific majors, after selecting the “Add/Remove” button, then select “All Majors” and click “Continue.”
  6. Our standard posting period is 2 months. If you wish to post the job for a different period of time, please adjust the date accordingly. NOTE: You will receive an email the day before each job is about to expire; upcoming expirations will also appear on the calendar on your Beaver Careers - Cascades home page.
  7. Decide whether you wish to allow students/alumni to apply online by submitting their resume and cover letter to you through Beaver Careers - Cascades. If you select “Yes,” for “Allow Students to Apply Online” you will receive email notifications of each applicant, with a direct link to their documents. If you prefer to receive applications some other way, select “No” and include instructions under “How to Apply.” NOTE: Cover letters are optional; if you require one please say so in the “How to Apply” section.
  8. You will be notified by email when your job has been approved and posted by the Career Development Center

Creating an Application Packet

  1. Login to Beaver Careers - Cascades
  2. All applications for a given job can be accessed by rolling over “My Jobs” and “Job List.”
  3. Jobs with applications will have a bolded “R” for Referrals on the far right. Click on the “R” to see the list of applicant’s.
  4. Click “View” to the right of the applicant’s name.
  5. Click “View Documents” on the left to see the applicant’s submitted documents in PDF format Click on the tabs near the top to alternate between documents if multiple documents were submitted.
  6. To return to the applicant’s main page click the browser window tab that says “Employer-Referral Form.”
  7. To read the message the applicant submitted with their application, click on the “Referral Message” tab on the applicant’s main page.
  8. To reply, simply enter your text and click “Save” to send the message.
  9. To create a resume packet of selected applicants, click on “Activity” in the upper left, and check the boxes of the applicants you wish to include. Their resumes (and optional letters) will be assembled in a PDF that you can view, print, or download immediately. Alternatively, you can request to have the packet sent to you via email.

Reviewing Individual Applications

  1. Login to Beaver Careers - Cascades
  2. New applications (self-referrals) that you have not yet reviewed will appear in your “Task List” box on your Beaver Careers – Cascades home page. To view a newly received application, simply click on “View” to the left of the student’s name. (You will also be notified of each new applicant with an email that includes a direct link to their documents.)
  3. Click “View Documents” on the left to see the applicant’s submitted documents in PDF form. Click on the tabs near the top to alternate between documents if multiple documents were submitted.
  4. To return to the applicant’s main page, click the browser window tab that says “Employer-Referral Form.”
  5. To read the message the applicant submitted with their application, click on the “Referral Message” tab on the applicant’s main page.
  6. To reply, simply enter your text and click “Save” to send the message.

Re-Posting an Inactive Opportunity

  1. Login to Beaver Careers - Cascades
  2. On the top navigation bar, hover over “My Jobs” and select “Search”
  3. Select the position that you would like to re-post from the table
  4. In the left-hand column, select “Copy Job” then click “OK” to create a new posting of the same position
  5. Make any necessary changes to the new job posting. If you wish to extend the posting date, change the expiration date for the position in the Posting Information box.
  6. You will be notified by email when your job has been approved and posted.
