Summer Enrollment Strong at OSU-Cascades

June 24, 2009

After a record spring term enrollment at Oregon State University – Cascades Campus, the summer term also shows increases in both undergraduate and graduate programs, with a 24 percent increase in students and a 40 percent increase in full-time equivalent (FTE). More than 250 students are enrolled in classes at the campus this summer.

Graduate programs show the most growth, particularly with the addition of the new master’s in teaching (MAT) in secondary education. This new program, which opened for applications in February 2009, has 25 students in its first cohort. The MAT in elementary education program, now in its fourth cohort, grew from 17 students in the last cohort, to 28 students in the newest cohort. The master’s in counseling program also showed a slight increase in students.

Undergraduate students increased from 26 to 40 newly admitted students for the summer term, with more than 130 undergraduates taking classes.

The deadline to apply for fall term is September 1, 2009.  For information call 541-322-3100 or visit http://www.osucascades.edu/admissions.
