Brianne Kothari

Brianne comes to OSU-Cascades from Portland, Ore. where she held positions as a senior research associate at the Regional Research Institute for Human Services and as an adjunct instructor in the Graduate School of Social Work at Portland State University. She holds a Ph.D. in social work and social research from Portland State University and a M.A. in human development from Washington State University.

Cameron Fischer

Cameron’s interests focus on ways in which educational and social systems influence children, families, and educators. She is particularly concerned with how gender, race, ethnicity, and disability intersect with regard to equity, inclusion, and access to educational opportunity. Cameron’s past research has focused on access to quality childcare and early childhood education, the role of female sexuality in the secondary classroom, and educators’ perceptions of how English language learners with disabilities are served in schools.

Kristina Smith

Kristina is the coordinator of the biochemistry and molecular biology degree program at OSU-Cascades, and a senior instructor in the biology program at OSU-Cascades. She received her Ph.D. from SUNY Buffalo, followed by postdoctoral positions in the Institute of Molecular Biology at the University of Oregon and Department of Biochemistry & Biophysics at Oregon State University. She began teaching at OSU-Cascades after relocating to Bend in 2013. Her research has employed fungal genetic models and plant pathogens to better understand epigenetic gene regulatory mechanisms.

T Geronimo Johnson

T. Geronimo Johnson’s debut novel "Hold it ‘Til it Hurts" was a 2013 PEN/Faulkner finalist. "Welcome to Braggsville," a dark, socially provocative comedic novel about four liberal college kids who attempt to stage a lynching during a Civil War reenactment, is scheduled for release in the US and UK in early 2015 by William Morrow. His short fiction and poetry have appeared in Best New American Voices, the LA Review, and Illuminations, among others. He has taught writing and held fellowships—including a Stegner Fellowship and an Iowa Arts Fellowship—at ASU, Iowa, Berkeley, Stanford and WMU.

Deborah Coehlo

Deborah Padgett Coehlo, Ph.D., completed her undergraduate degree in nursing at Chico State University. She then completed her masters in nursing with a specialty in parent-child nursing and a pediatric nurse practitioner certification from the University of Washington. She then spent 10 years working at the Child Development Center at the University of Washington in the Genetics Clinic and Multidisciplinary Clinic. This path led to faculty positions at Southern Oregon State University and Oregon Health Sciences University in Nursing.

Ryan Reese

Dr. Ryan Reese is an associate professor of Counseling at Oregon State University - Cascades in Bend, Oregon. He holds licenses as a licensed professional counselor, licensed school counselor, national certified counselor, and approved clinical supervisor. His research agenda focuses on connection with non-human nature and how intentional and contextual affiliations might be integrated effectively into clinical and educational settings to promote optimal wellness and learning.

Todd Montgomery

Todd Montgomery has over 23 years of experience in the development, implementation and training of new technology.  During his career, Montgomery has worked with several Fortune 500 companies including Hyatt, Starwood, Disney, and Avis. In that role, he led the design and implementation of several multimillion-dollar software initiatives.

Michael Giamellaro

Giamellaro began his career as a biologist in Wyoming with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service where he found a passion for outreach, education, and engaging students in science. This led to a new career in science teaching that took him to Colorado and New York City where he began working with integrated and experiential curriculum approaches. In his current position Mike is happy to be combining his passions for teaching and research in Central Oregon.

Jeff Gautschi

Dr. Gautschi received his doctorate while studying marine natural products from sponge and deep-water, marine-derived fungal species from Papua New Guinea.  Dr. Gautschi then joined Bend Research Inc. as a research scientist working on drug discovery, drug delivery, and business development projects. He later helped start Agere Pharmaceuticals in 2009 as their first employee, becoming Director of Research and Development in 2011. Dr. Gautschi joined OSU in the fall of 2012.
