Health Insurance

All Oregon State students are strongly encouraged to have some form of health insurance.

Health insurance is a contract that requires your health insurer to pay some or all of your health care costs in exchange for a premium.

Domestic Students

Although not required for domestic students, OSU encourages students to seek health insurance so that they can live their healthiest lives.

International Students

International students must purchase OSU's health insurance or show a record of similar coverage and request a waiver. International students are automatically enrolled in OSU's health insurance and the charge is billed to the student account. Find out more about international student health insurance through OSU.

Medicaid: Oregon Health Plan

Did you know that more than 40% of OSU-Cascades students are eligible for Medicaid? Open enrollment is ongoing and you can apply at any time. Apply to the Oregon Health Plan (OHP).

Health Insurance Marketplace

Open enrollment for the Health Insurance Marketplace is from November 1 to January 15th, unless you qualify for a Special Enrollment Period, in which case you have 60 days from loss of coverage to enroll in a plan. Marketplace products are not reviewed, sponsored, or endorsed by Oregon State University.
