Gear-Store Coordniator

Title: Gear-Store Coordinator
Status: Open

  • June 19, 2017 – June 17, 2018
  • Up to 20 hrs/wk during the Academic Year
  • Up to 20 hrs/wk during Summer (some time off is negotiable)
  • Up to 20 hrs/wk during Winter Break (some time off is negotiable)
  • Up to 20 hrs/wk during Spring Break (some time off is negotiable)

Responsibilities:

Gear Store Manager (50%)

  • Develop strategies and logistics to improve and expand the operation of the Gear Store
  • Oversee the training of the Student Life Office Staff who’ll serve as cashiers for the Gear Store
  • Track transactions and finances of Gear Store
  • In consultation with Assistant Director of Student Life, expand available inventory by
  • designing and purchasing additional pieces of branded merchandise to be sold
  • Increase awareness and sales of Gear Store.

Office Staff Duties: (50%)

  • Provide general office support including but not limited to:
  • Answering the Office of Student Life phone
  • Checking Voicemail
  • Checking and responding to emails
  • Picking up and distributing mail
  • Maintaining office organization and cleanliness for Office of Student Life, ASCC office, and ASCC Conference Room.
  • Running errands on and off campus
  • Greet visitors to the Office of Student Life, providing well - informed responses to their inquiries.
  • Distribute student organization’s posters & flyers to campus bulletin boards.
  • Shred, file, or scan confidential documents as directed.
  • Provide administrative support to all entities within the Office of Student Life including Programming Board, Cascades Adventures, ASCC, SFC, etc.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Must have completed at least one year at OSU - Cascades
  • Must be enrolled in at least six (6) credits at OSU - Cascades
  • Must have and maintain a cumulative GPA of
  • 2.5 or higher throughout the employment period
  • Must have a clear judicial record

Desired Qualifications:

  • Business minded and able to develop a plan for increasing the Gear Store’s operations
  • Has understanding of financial procedures. Experience with OSU - Cascades specific policies are a plus
  • Understands and can use social networking tools to market the Gear Store
  • Able to complete work in an accurate and timely manner with autonomy
  • Has prior office experience with the ability to multi - task, assist with the organization, and maintain office functions to ensure efficient and effective operations
  • Able to manage time efficiently and abide by strict deadlines
  • Technologically oriented and proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Google Apps, and interested in emerging technologies and how to utilize them to support the Gear Store
  • Possess strong interpersonal communication skills
  • Organized and detail oriented
  • Motivated, energetic, and able to maintain a positive attitude, especially in stressful situations

 

Leadership Coordinator

  • Responsible for the support and development of Registered Clubs & Organizations
  • Recruit for new clubs & involvement opportunities
  • Hold regular Leadership Development Workshops for students
  • Provide support and training for using funding forms & other financial processes
  • Serve as a contact for all student organizations and be available to support their initiatives and needs
  • Plan Annual Leadership Conference
  • Plan End of Year Leadership
  • Recognition Banquet

  • Has prior office experience with the ability to multi - task, assist with the organization, and maintain office functions to ensure efficient and effective operations

Student Program Coordinator

  • 10 hrs/wk during the Academic Year
  • 10 hrs/wk during Winter Break (some time off is negotiable)
  • 10 hrs/wk during Spring Break (some time off is negotiable)
  • Able to volunteer for occasional weekend and special events such as New Student Orientation, Welcome Week, and other Initiatives developed by the Office of Student Life

Responsibilities:

  • Create, expand, and develop programs designed to increase the retention and success of OSU-Cascades Students.
  • Help to organize and coordinate Fall, Winter, and Spring Welcome Week programs.
  • Help to coordinate New Student Orientations
  • Provide general office support including: answering phones, checking and responding to emails, assisting walk-in students, and others
  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Requirements:

  • Must have completed at least one year at OSU-Cascades by June 2016
  • Must be enrolled in at least six (6) credits at OSU-Cascades
  • Must have and maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher throughout the employment period
  • Must have a clear judicial record

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience planning events and collaborating with campus partners to achieve success
  • Able to complete work in an accurate and timely manner with autonomy
