Events Council

Events Council

Signature programming for first-year and all-campus events.

Student Life Events Council

The Student Life Events Council is made up of a group of students who plan campus-wide events. We facilitate spaces for memory-making and to supplement students' educational lives here at OSU-Cascades. We love what we do! Check out some of our signature events below. New events are added each year, please check back for this year's event dates.

All of these programs and more are brought to you by the Student Life Events Council. If you have ideas for events or programs you want to see or if you want to get involved, stop by and visit us in the Student Life Office (Residence Hall 118).

 Diversity Week

This week long event provides informative and educational programming for OSU-Cascades and the Central Oregon community that encourages others to think critically about diversity and inclusion. We wanted to create an environment where we can address the many aspects of diversity in the OSU-Cascades community, in the workplace, and throughout the rest of the world. This is a collaborative event with programming done by Events council, clubs, and departments on campus.

MLK Day of Service

Students, Faculty, and Staff to come together for a day of service and improvement to our Central Oregon community.

We start the day with breakfast for all volunteers, then we disperse into the community in groups to work on one of several predetermined projects with non-profit organizations throughout the city of Bend.

Martin Luther King Jr. had a firm belief that the power to change the world stood within each individual person. This event brings with it the opportunity to come together as a community for a day of service and improvement to the town we have all fallen in love with.

Fermentation Education

Listen to speakers from local breweries, distilleries and wineries to talk about the educational aspects regarding fermentation. Consider aspects such as the science behind fermentation, local economic impact, sustainability efforts or the agricultural production. Live demonstrations by the Cultured Club, free food, and beer, wine, and other fermented drinks. (must be 21+ with valid ID to sample alcohol).

Bend Beavs Variety Show

Acts in the past have included avant guare yoyoing, Canine agility, stick juggling, singing, dancing, serenading, musical styling, ear gifts, stand up comedy, mini-bend beavs, dinosaur appearance and more.
