Student Life Programming Board
The Student Life Programming Board is made up of a group of students who plan campus-wide events. You may have seen some around such as Welcome Week where we introduced all of our students to our new campus. Spirit Week where we celebrated OSU-Cascades with fun costumes, free pancake breakfast, cupcakes and more. The Programming Board also has hosted a food and toiletry drive to donate items to those in need. In October they hosted a Volunteer Fair where over 20 volunteer organizations from around Bend came to offer volunteer opportunities to OSU-Cascades students. MLK Jr. Day of Service in January was another one of their events. All of these programs and more are brought to you by the Student Life Programming Board. If you have ideas for events you want to see or if you want to get involved, stop by and visit them in the Student Life Office (Tykeson Hall 110).
Fermentation Education - April 21, 2017
Fermentation Education is an educational event that will take place on the OSU-Cascades campus on April 21st, 2017. We believe that fermentation plays a key role in the life of all Oregonians. We will be exploring the science behind fermentation and how it influences our community in an economic, agricultural, and sustainable way. We'll have representatives from local breweries, distilleries, and bakeries attending the event to speak on how fermentation is related to different academic majors offered here at OSU-Cascades. There will be lectures throughout the evening ranging in topics from the history and science behind fermentation, the economic and agricultural impacts, sustainability practices, and global marketing ventures. Additionally, for those students looking to explore a career in the industry, there will an internship fair where students will be able to talk with hiring managers from local fermentation based companies about summer jobs and internship opportunities. The evening will close with a one hour tasting session sponsored by local breweries, distilleries, and others for attendees aged 21 and over. Learn more.
Space is limited so RSVP to reserve your spot today!
