Living on campus

First-Year Experience

As part of OSU-Cascades comprehensive First-Year Experience, first-year students, with very few exceptions, are required to live on campus. Living on-campus is an excellent way for students to connect with key campus resources and build community.

Thriving on Campus

In both nation-wide studies and research conducted by Oregon State University, first-year students who live on campus earn better grades than students who live off campus, and also tend to graduate more quickly. When you live on campus, you're surrounded by people and resources to help you succeed and thrive in college.

  • The residence hall has a resident director—a full-time staff member who is available to help with your transition to college
  • The residence hall has live-in student staff including resident assistants
