Step 1: Apply for admission at OSU-Cascades
Complete the OSU-Cascades admission application online. To be considered for admission, the admissions office must receive your admissions application and all required official transcripts.

Step 2: Request transcripts
Request official transcripts from any colleges that you have ever attended be sent to OSU-Cascades.

Step 3: Apply for your Veterans Affairs benefits

  • If you are a service member or a veteran, apply for VA Educational Benefit here
  • If you are a disabled veteran, click here to apply for Vocational Rehabilitation.
  • If you are a spouse, a dependent, a survivor of a veteran, a candidate for The National Call to Service program or a current education benefit recipient who wants to change school, click here to complete your application.
  • If benefits were received at a different institution prior to OSU-Cascades, please fill out the Change of Place of Training Form:

Step 4: Apply for FAFSA
You may still be eligible for other federal funds while receiving your Veteran educational benefits. Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) at Oregon State University school code is 003210.

Step 5: Send VA documents to Veterans Certifying Officials
Once you receive a certificate of eligibility after you applied for your VA benefits, submit a copy of your certificate of eligibility to the certifying officials at

Step 6: Waiting Time
Once the Admissions Office has your application and all required transcripts, the admissions review process will begin. This may take up to three weeks. You will be notified by mail of the admission decision.

Step 7: Confirm Your Enrollment
To confirm your intent to enroll at OSU–Cascades, you must submit the Advance Tuition Deposit (ATD) form along with your $200 deposit.  However, Oregon State recognizes the members of the U.S. Armed Forces and veterans of the U.S. Armed Forces by exempting them from paying the Advance Tuition Deposit (ATD).
In order to be eligible for the ATD exemption, active duty military members need to submit a copy their most recent military orders, Enlisted Records Brief (ERB), or Officer Records Brief (ORB). Veterans need to submit a copy of their DD-214.

Step 8: Cascades START (new student orientation and advising)
Once you have been notified of your acceptance, you will receive information regarding Cascades START. Follow the instructions on Cascades START information sheet, meet with your advisor and register for classes.
