When is Welcome Week?

Welcome Week starts on Monday, September 18 and there are activities and events Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.

I’m a transfer student. Do I really need to come to Welcome Week?

Yes. Welcome Week is for all new students whether you’re transferring from Central Oregon Community College, another community college or the Corvallis campus. Welcome Week is for anyone spending their first fall at OSU-Cascades. There are workshops and events specifically designed for new transfer students.

Do parents need to attend?

There is a one-day Parent & Family Orientation on Monday, September 18. Parents and family members are invited to participate but are not required to do so. If you’d like to register for the Parent & Family Orientation, click here.

Do I need to stay the Entire time?

There are many things going on both Monday and Tuesday we think you will find valuable. There are workshops designed to give you the tools to be successful at OSU-Cascades, opportunities to meet other new students and begin building friendships, time with faculty from your program to learn about what to expect throughout your academic journey and more. Overall, those who participate in Welcome Week activities have a higher graduation rate and are more likely to feel connected to their new campus.

I am a student-parent, will I be able to go home to take care of my child?

Yes. If you need to leave for a period of time during Welcome Week, let us know and we will make sure you have the information you missed. Also, the final event on Wednesday evening is family friendly. There will be games, food and a movie.

Are there any costs for attending Welcome Week?

All events and sessions are free for students and parents including food.

Where do I park?

If you are a commuter student, register your vehicle and review parking options to make the best choice for your schedule and budget. Need help? Schedule a personal transportation consultation.

Parking for residential students is located in the off-site lot at Simpson and Columbia Aves.

Where do I pick up my Student ID Card?

Bring your OSU ID number and a picture ID. Your Student ID will include a CET Transit sticker that serves as your free pass on all CET bus routes in Bend. Do not put holes in your Student ID. There is no charge for your first card. The replacement fee for a Student ID is $25.
