Welcome Weekend - Frequently Asked Questions

When is Welcome Weekend?

Welcome Weekend is the weekend before each term.

Yes. Welcome Weekend is for all new students whether you’re transferring from Central Oregon Community College, another community college or the Corvallis campus. There are workshops and events specifically designed for new transfer students.

Do parents need to attend?

Parents and family members are invited to participate but are not required to do so.

Do I need to stay the Entire time?

There are many things going on both Friday and Saturday that we think you will find valuable. There are workshops designed to give you the tools to be successful at OSU-Cascades, opportunities to meet other new students and begin building friendships, time with faculty from your program to learn about what to expect throughout your academic journey and more. Overall, those who participate in Welcome Weekend activities have a higher graduation rate and are more likely to feel connected to their new campus.

Are there any costs for attending Welcome Weekend?

All events and sessions are free for students including food.
