My name is Brian(He/Him)! I am currently studying Biology here at Cascades and hopefully finishing in Spring term (fingers crossed). As Student Body President, I get to help and support the ASCC team members in their initiatives and programs. Apart from supporting ASCC, I help represent the Students of Cascades on different boards and committees on campus. I also help represent students voice when meeting with leadership teams and at the capital with legislature. In my free time (Ha), I like to play rugby, hang out with friends or honestly sleep (haha). If you see me in the hallway, feel free to say hello as I am always happy to meet more students and get to know you. At the end of the day, I am here for you and will try and assist you as best as I can.
Hi everyone! I’m a Junior studying Social Science and Political Science and am originally from Portland. I am so excited to be your Vice President and Chair of the Student Fee Committee this year! When I’m not studying or in the ASCC office, you can find me up at Mt. Bachelor snowboarding, camping out, or hiking. I am a kombucha connoisseur and would love to talk probiotic beverages at any time, any place! I am also in the Honors College program on campus if you have any questions about it, I am happy to help. I hope after graduation to go to law school and then move my way into politics - which has always been a passion of mine. It is important to me to make sure peoples’ voices are heard and that the community is being represented and served so that all people can do what they love. As your ASCC Vice President, I hope to bring more transparency and access to your Student Fee dollars so that you can take charge of your university experience!
Hi! My name is Fernando Arellano, and I am your Director of Legislative Affairs. I service students in facilitating student voices to our state legislatures. I am originally from the San Fernando Valley in Los Angeles and came to OSU-Cascades for its excellent Natural Resource Program and Location. I love to do anything outdoors, especially if it is with new friends. You can see me float around campus or in the ASCC office. Feel free to stop me and ask questions, or to hang out.
Hey everyone! I am your new ASCC Director of Student Advocacy. I am excited to be working towards bettering our school environment and advocating for you all. This year will be my second at OSU- Cascades, and I am looking forward to all it brings. Cheers!
Hello, my name is James Bartley, and I will be your ASCC Director of Administrative Affairs for the 2019-2020 school year! As the Director of Administrative Affairs, I will be one of your central points of contact with ASCC, and I will also manage ASCC’s budget. I’m a fourth-year majoring in Business Administration, and I was born in Chicago, Illinois, and raised in Redmond, Oregon. Coming from Chicago, I’m a massive fan of all the Chicago sports teams (except for the Cubs). If you feel like going down the rabbit hole of a sports conversation, drop by the ASCC office! I’m also a pretty big techy, so if you have any computer issues or want to talk about nerd stuff, feel free to reach out. My current plans after I graduate this Summer are to get an MBA in Finance or Sports Management.
Hi everyone, my name is Rebecca Bishop, and I am the Director of Public Relations. This year is my second at OSU-Cascades, and I am studying Arts, Media, and Technology. In my free time, I read, watch sports and take pictures. I am from North Plains (basically Hillsboro), but I wanted a change of scenery. If you see me around campus, feel free to ask questions or chat with me. I am excited to work with you this year.
Hi everyone! My name is Risa Christie, and I’m the Student Inclusion Coordinator for the 2019-2020 school year! You can find me in the new student equity lounge and ASCC office. I’ll be helping with lots of exciting projects this year and am excited to help support our inclusive and diverse campus! I’m a sophomore majoring in biology and am planning to pursue a career in either marine studies or medicine. I grew up in Bend and am always up on mount Bachelor Nordic skiing. Looking forward to the upcoming school year!
Hi all, my name is Amber, and I am the Graduate Student Affairs Coordinator. I am in the Master’s in Counseling program after completing my undergraduate degrees in Family and Human Services and Spanish at UO, you could call me a platypus. My role within ASCC is to represent the needs of graduate students and plan fun programming for graduate students. When I’m not on campus, I’m out exploring Oregon, petting dogs, and knitting. I am excited to join the team and represent graduates!
