Scott Allan became president and CEO of Bend-based Hydro Flask in 2012 and subsequently set the company’s successful premium brand strategy. Over the next few years, Hydro Flask was twice named to the Inc. 500 list and to Outside Magazine’s Top 100 Places to Work. In 2015 he was named the EY Entrepreneur of the Year for the Pacific Northwest. Hydro Flask was acquired by Helen of Troy in 2016. Scott was retained as general manager responsible for strategy and continued global growth. He retired in 2020.
Prior to joining Hydro Flask, Scott spent 15 years in Silicon Valley serving in roles commercializing Apple Pay technology, as vice president and general manager of the Motorola Solutions payment and kiosk business, and as COO for a Silicon Valley payment and cloud-based services venture. Scott also served as CEO of TriniTEQ, a handheld restaurant ordering system developer.
Scott currently serves on the board of Cairn, a Bend-based outdoor products monthly subscription service; Rumpl, a Portland-based provider of outdoor blankets; Camber Outdoors, an organization accelerating diversity, equity and inclusion in the outdoor industry; and Cubii, a wellness products company. He also serves on the board of Lotus Sustainables, a provider of reusable grocery cart systems and produce bags. Scott earned a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from the UC Berkeley and a MBA from Northwestern University. He enjoys mountain biking, snowboarding, golfing, surfing and travel with his wife Annie and their four children.
