An exercise and sport science professor at Oregon State University - Cascades is among six outstanding OSU faculty members recognized by OnPoint Community Credit Union during the fall 2013 Beaver football season.  Faculty members were selected for having excelled in teaching, research, and leadership. Oregon State University - Cascades launched the 2013-2014 academic year with an anticipated enrollment of 930 juniors, seniors and graduate students pursuing degrees, marking a 16 percent enrollment increase over last fall. Upper level and graduate students represent students officially counted by the Oregon University System.

Oregon State University - Cascades has hired a part-time diversity coordinator to further its efforts to create and promote a welcoming, supportive and inclusive climate within the campus community. Regina Ricketts joined the branch campus in August.

Leaders from Oregon State University's branch campus in Bend will present two real estate properties to the Finance and Administration Committee of the State Board of Higher Education on September 20 for consideration as the new home for OSU-Cascades' four-year campus. 

After record spring and summer enrollment, Oregon State University - Cascades Campus has posted a 19.8 percent growth in the number of students taking classes this fall, the largest percentage increase in headcount enrollment of any campus in the Oregon University System.   OSU-Cascades' growth reflects a 26 percent increase in full time equivalent enrollment* (FTE).

Oregon State University - Cascades has formed a committee to help inform and gather input from the Central Oregon community as it expands to a four-year university on a campus in Bend. 

Oregon State University - Cascades has a new associate dean on board to lead the academic programs in its Human Health and Wellness division.  Julie Gess-Newsome, a professor of science education, was most recently dean of the Graduate School of Education at Willamette University in Salem, Ore. 

Oregon State University - Cascades recently hired Todd Montgomery as an instructor and an executive in residence in hospitality management.

Oregon State University - Cascades is offering free counseling to community members through the university's graduate counseling program. The free counseling sessions provide a community service and allow master's students to develop and implement counseling expertise under the close supervision of faculty and clinical supervisors.
