OSU-Cascades Partners with Mt. Bachelor on Mountain Resort Management Course

The Tourism and Outdoor Leadership program at Oregon State University - Cascades Campus will offer a new course beginning in January that will provide an overview of mountain resort management and operations.  The course will take place in the classroom and in the field at Mt. Bachelor Ski Resort.  Participants will study the principles of planning, development, marketing and management at a mountain resort, and take field trips to Mt. Bachelor to see the principles applied within various departments at the ski resort.   

Under New OSU Vision, OSU-Cascades to Expand Six-Fold by 2025

CORVALLIS, Ore. - In unveiling a new vision for Oregon State University, President Ed Ray told the OSU Faculty Senate on Thursday, October 8, that the university will grow substantially by the year 2025, with OSU-Cascades Campus expanding to an enrollment of 3,000 - 4,000 students about six times its present size.

The state's first public university branch campus, OSU-Cascades currently serves about 600 students and has produced more than 1,400 graduates over the past eight years.

Fall Enrollment Projected to be Strong at OSU-Cascades

Enrollment in Oregon State University - Cascades Campus' undergraduate and graduate programs are expected to increase about 15 percent this fall term to nearly 600 juniors, seniors and graduate students.  Additionally, the campus' full-time equivalent (FTE) enrollment is expected to increase about 29 percent.   This would be the campus' largest increase in five years.

OSU-Cascades Students Focus on the Impact of the 1960s on American Culture

This fall, OSU-Cascades Department of Liberal Studies will offer students an American Studies Project  focusing on the issues and movements that emerged in America during the turbulence of the 1960s.  The project consists of a series of courses that will allow students to develop a broad understanding of the 1960s and the impact that decade has had on current society.

Craft Brewery Leader Gary Fish addresses OSU-Cascades Class of 2009

Gary Fish, who transformed a small brewpub in downtown Bend into the top-selling brewery in Oregon and Washington, presented the key address to the Class of 2009 at Oregon State University - Cascades' commencement.  Fish is president of Deschutes Brewery in Bend, and a leading figure across Central Oregon’s business and philanthropic landscape.


OSU-Cascades Announces 2009 Distinguished Students

The Distinguished Student award is one of the top honors given at OSU-Cascades.  Recipients are selected by members of the faculty.  The award recognizes a student from within each degree area in the current graduating class for outstanding achievement in academics and contribution to their field.

Distinguished Students consistently show a passion for learning and a dedication to their field of study and to the OSU-Cascades community.  The Distinguished Student award was initiated in 2004.
