Instructor Joins OSU-Cascades Tourism and Outdoor Leadership Program

Michael Gassner, an Oregon State University graduate with teaching, administrative, consulting and international outdoor leadership experience recently joined Oregon State University – Cascades Campus’ Tourism and Outdoor Leadership (TOL) program.  Gassner will teach upper division courses and oversee the TOL program’s student internship offerings.  Gassner joins Associate Professor Kreg Lindberg who helped develop the outdoor-focused TOL program and now manages it.  Gassner’s position was newly created to accommodate the growth of the TOL program.  

OSU-Cascades Professor Named Fellow of the 2009 International Canadian Studies Institute

A natural resources professor from Oregon State University - Cascades Campus has been selected as a fellow of the International Canadian Studies Institute by the Canadian Consulate General Seattle in collaboration with the Pacific Northwest Canadian Studies Consortium (PNWCSC). Ron Reuter, an associate professor who specializes in soil science and soil ecosystems, was selected in part because forestry, natural resources and sustainability issues are of increasing importance in the U.S. - Canada relationship. He is the first Canadian Studies Institute fellow to be selected from OSU-Cascades.

OSU Announces Leadership Transition for OSU-Cascades Campus

Oregon State University announced today that Rebecca "Becky" Johnson, vice provost for academic affairs and international programs on the Corvallis campus, will take over interim leadership of the OSU-Cascades Campus in Bend, effective immediately.

Diana Sloane, who has been the campus executive officer since July 1, 2007, is stepping down to assume a faculty position, and will work closely with Johnson to ensure a smooth transition.
