Addie Howell is the Manager of Academic Outreach and Engagement at Oregon State University–Cascades, where she works to deepen academic partnerships across Central Oregon, with a particular focus on local high schools and Central Oregon Community College. Her work focuses on supporting faculty engagement, expanding access to higher education, and creating opportunities for students to experience OSU-Cascades firsthand.
OSU-Cascades and PRAx bring global and Grammy-winning artists to Tower Theatre
Oregon State University – Cascades and OSU’s Patricia Valian Reser Center for the Creative Arts are launching a new concert series at Bend’s Tower Theatre that will debut in January 2026.
The Patricia Valian Reser Center — known as PRAx — opened in 2024 on OSU’s Corvallis campus. The “x” in its name signifies the intersection of the arts with other academic disciplines. As a hub for performing and visual arts, PRAx is expanding its reach to Central Oregon through the new collaboration.
More than 85 student veterans are pursuing degrees at OSU-Cascades
This fall, 65 former active-duty veterans and an additional 22 students who are receiving veteran dependent benefits, are studying towards undergraduate and graduate degrees at Oregon State University - Cascades.
In total, more than 321 veterans have received bachelor’s or master’s degrees since OSU-Cascades was founded in 2021.

Gift from local business leader supports new accountancy degree at OSU-Cascades
A gift to Oregon State University–Cascades will establish a fund to enhance classroom learning and hands-on experiences for students in the newly launched accountancy degree program.
The $50,000 gift was made through the OSU Foundation by Lance Brant, an alumnus of OSU’s College of Business, and founder and co-managing partner of Capstone Accounting and Tax in Bend.
Rylea Erickson
Rylea Erickson is a Central Oregon native from Terrebonne and a graduate of OSU-Cascades, where she earned her B.S. In Human Development and Family Science. During her time as a student she served as a campus ambassador and was actively involved in student government. After graduation, Rylea worked in college admissions in Wyoming and later taught elementary school. She has now transitioned back to higher education and is excited to continue supporting student success.
