Advising prospective Bend Beavs on the enrollment and transferring process is Katie Wardsworth's passion. With knowledge in the transfer, enrollment, and advising process, Katie looks to support and guide Bend Beavs.
Previously, Katie was hired as Student-Athlete Development Coordinator and Academic Advisor for Northern Arizona University Athletics. While advising and assisting student-athletes, she mentored the largest caseload of Northern Arizona University’s at-risk student-athlete population for daily, weekly, and monthly check-ins. A strong advocate for mental health and proper academic accommodations, Katie served as liaison with psychologists and disability resources to assure students receiving mental health and academic services gained the most appropriate forms of collegiate accommodation.
Katie was also hired as the University of Oregon Director of Track and Field Operations. She took a leading role in Oregon’s day-to-day track and field operations and travel coordination. Katie joined the Ducks after completing her Masters of Education in Intercollegiate Athletic Leadership and Administration at the University of Washington. A hammer thrower, she transferred to UW in 2018 for her final year of eligibility after spending two years at Washington State, where she earned her bachelor’s degree in psychology and minor in sport management. Katie served as the captain for the Washington State Cougars Track and Field Team.
