Born into a military family, Jesse has lived in a few places, born in Tennessee, K-9 in Virginia, then high school in Austin Texas. After completing bachelor degrees in both computer science and Economics at Texas State University, he completed a Master of Computer Science degree from Rice University in Houston. After Rice, he was hired by one of his professors to work at Baylor College of Medicine research grants from the National Library of Medicine. Two years later, Jesse decided to continue his education at Oregon State University.
Jesse worked on research in climate affected vegetation as a research assistant at Oregon State for four years. He went on to work for over 15 years with Hewlett-Packard, as both an HP employee and as a consultant. At HP, he worked on applications development and as a database administrator.
Jesse found his love of teaching computer science when given the opportunity to teach classes, both online and on-campus, at Oregon State University.
Jesse is a college sports fan, especially college football. In the fall, Jesse can be found watching games and reading the statistics of previous games. He also likes to spend time with his family and ride his bicycle.
