Rodrigo is from Auburn, California and obtained his master’s degree in social work from California State University, Long Beach in May of 2021. As a first-generation and low-income student, Rodrigo was in the TRIO program while at community college. In his role as a TRIO Academic Counselor, he assists students who are low-income, first-generation, and/or have a documented disability navigate the complex university system. He is passionate about increasing social mobility through higher education for groups who have been historically and systemically marginalized.
