Biography

Timothy Burnett is an instructor of kinesiology at OSU-Cascades. Originally from Southern California, Tim received his B.S. in kinesiology from California State University San Marcos and his M.S. in exercise physiology from San Diego State University. Tim’s doctoral work in human bioenergetics was performed at the Human Performance Laboratory at Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana. This NIH funded work focused on the loss of skeletal muscle size and function during aging, and how lifelong aerobic exercise affects this process.

Tim’s students will explore physiological concepts through experiential research, and will develop applicable skills through community-based outreach and interactions. These essential skills will ensure the kinesiology students at OSU-Cascades have the competitive edge needed in today’s job market. Tim’s penchant for teaching and higher education brought him to OSU-Cascades to enrich the students of Central Oregon, and to be integral in the expanding new campus.
