To allocate resources to support programs.

To ensure Budget Owners are aware of expenses for each program.

To provide faculty/staff the opportunity to make formal budget requests. Please include all requests in the budgeting process. If an expense is not included, it is unlikely that sufficient funds will exist to cover the cost in the future. However, please note that not all requests will be granted funding.

To recognize that every university has programs that break even and those that do not. We are looking to become a self-sufficient university overall, not that each program has to break even.

To ensure we do not dip too far into our reserve funds during our growth phase.

To allow us to accurately forecast monthly, quarterly, and annual expenses (this helps prepare long-range plans to align with our strategic plans).
