The Road to Racial Justice: Recalibrating Our Racial Compass

3:30-5:30 p.m., January 21
Tykeson Hall 111

It’s been more than 50 years since Martin Luther King Jr. called on the nation to address racial injustice, yet we still struggle with talking about race. This interactive workshop explores the roots and modern-day manifestations of systemic racism and some of the detours and defensiveness that can come up when we talk about race and racism. The event will also serve as a kickoff for OSU-Cascades’ campus read of Robin DiAngelo’s “White Fragility,” which will include monthly book discussions the third Thursdays of February, March, April, and May from noon to 1 p.m.
