Resident Student Zipcar Promotion

Who: All current Cascades Residence students qualify, with a valid drivers license.

What: Better-than-free Parking. Earn 1 hour of Zipcar credit per month for whatever, whenever. Gas and insurance included.

Where: Two Zipcars (a Ford Focus and Ford Escape) are parked in front of the dining hall on campus.

When: Use credits whenever. Vehicle must be observed in the lot on weekdays 3+ days/week. 

Why: Because Zipcars are located on campus and free parking is 0.50 miles away. And, because good neighbors will reduce parking congestion on local streets around campus. 

How: Follow these steps:

  • Register vehicle with OSU-Cascades (see below)
  • Sign up for Zipcar membership at this link:
  • Qualifying student accounts will be reviewed and activated
  • 1 hour of driving credit issued each week, subject to meeting participation requirements.

Parking Policy

Students who live on campus and bringing a personal vehicle must follow OSU-Cascades parking policies and:

  • Register vehicles Online
  • Park vehicles in the long-term/residential lot at 1000 SW Bradbury Way (corner of Columbia and Simpson) during weekday fee hours (8 a.m. to 5 p.m.)
  • As needed, use designated on-campus visitor spaces for loading/unloading into residential hall (up to 20 minutes)
  • On-campus parking is permitted for residential students overnight (between 5 p.m. and 8 a.m.) and on weekends.

Some circumstances may warrant exceptions to this policy for residential students, such as off-campus jobs or internships. To request an exception, please complete a residential student exception form and submit a electronic copy to

The Columbia/Simpson parking lot is accessible by:

  • Foot (12-15 minute walk)
  • Bike, via Zagster bike share (5-8 minutes) - students get free membership
  • Bus, service every 30 minutes via CET Routes 10, 11 and 12. Download the "Transit App" to get real-time bus arrival information on your phone
  • Safety Escort service is available through the Department of Public Safety for students who feel unsafe traveling between the off-site lot and residence hall after dark or during extreme weather
  • Shuttle service is planned to operate from November 2017 through March 2018.
