Kelsey Jaeckel is a Professional Counselor Associate and licensed School Counselor with more than a decade of experience in K–12 education, spanning elementary, middle, and high school settings. She currently serves as a part-time School Counselor at Amity Creek Elementary in the Bend-La Pine School District and provides individual, couples, and family counseling through her private practice.
Her counseling approach is relational, culturally responsive, and grounded in equity, data-informed decision making, and experiential learning. Kelsey facilitates professional development on the ASCA Model across Central Oregon and is dedicated to creating inclusive, comprehensive school counseling programs that promote academic and social-emotional growth.
In 2025, Sisters Middle School earned ASCA RAMP certification under her leadership, recognizing excellence in program implementation. Earlier in her career, she worked in family, business, and community mediation and conflict resolution in North Dakota.
Originally from Wisconsin, Kelsey moved to Bend in 2012. Outside of work, she enjoys traveling, hiking, swimming, cycling, cross-country skiing, backpacking, and watching independent films.
She joined OSU–Cascades in Winter 2025 as an instructor for the school counseling internship supervision course, supporting emerging school counselors in integrating theory with practice to design impactful, equity-driven, comprehensive programs adhering to the ASCA Model.
Teaching & Supervision Approach
Kelsey’s theoretical orientation is grounded in Person-Centered Therapy and informed by elements of EFT, IFS, and EMDR. She approaches teaching and supervision through a humanistic lens, emphasizing authenticity, empathy, and self-awareness. Using the Discrimination Model to guide feedback, she focuses on intervention skills, conceptual understanding, and personal development, shifting fluidly among the roles of teacher, consultant, and counselor to meet supervisees’ evolving needs.
