Biography

Dr. Molly Moran is an Assistant Clinical Professor and School Counseling Track Lead in the Master of Counseling program at Oregon State University -Cascades. Dr. Moran also serves as co-director of the OSU -Cascades Faculty Support Center. She holds a Ph.D. in Counselor Education and Supervision from Boise State University and an M.S. in Counseling from Portland State University, both CACREP-accredited programs. Her professional journey spans roles in teaching, counseling, academic coaching, counselor education, and school-based programming, with a consistent focus on equity, experiential learning, and culturally responsive practice.

Dr. Moran’s scholarship centers on school-based interventions aimed at improving outcomes for historically marginalized students and multicultural pedagogy and supervision. She has authored multiple peer-reviewed publications and book chapters. Dr. Moran regularly presents at national and regional conferences. Her work is supported by federal and institutional grants, including a $3.8M Mental Health Service Professional Demonstration Grant from the U.S. Department of Education.

Teaching and Supervision Philosophy

Dr. Moran’s teaching and supervision are grounded in person-centered, experiential, and social justice approaches. Her pedagogy emphasizes reflective practice, cultural humility, and collaborative learning, preparing students to become ethical, compassionate, culturally responsive, and equity-minded practitioners.
