Nate moved to Central Oregon in January of 2021, from Corvallis, Oregon, and has been in the human resources profession since 2018 after returning from Grand Canyon University in Phoenix, Arizona. Nate is an extroverted “people” person, whom you will see at numerous weekly networking events. He enjoys connecting individuals to a wide variety of events and introducing people to others. He shows compassion to those around him. 

Nate has helped create and establish human resources departments in which he was the leader of the hiring/recruiting process for companies. He has also helped write and implement policies and procedures, administered health/dental benefits, and overseen Oregon, Washington and Idaho employees. This extensive experience has equipped him to tackle new challenges for any company he has worked for. 

At OSU-Cascades, Nate is the human resources support specialist. In his role, he is responsible for onboarding faculty, processing job/employment terminations, making leave adjustments, handling audit/data management and assisting units with job change activities throughout the life cycle of an employee. He provides customer service and supports any changes associated with a faculty’s lifecycle from onboarding to offboarding. You can expect to greet him upstairs of Obsidian Hall in Suite 208, typically drinking a cup of coffee with a welcoming smile on his face. 

Outside of work, Nate enjoys spending time with friends, often landing at breweries while trying new food at a variety of restaurants. He is an avid Beaver fan attending numerous sporting events. He also likes to take advantage of being outdoors. Nate loves hiking, fishing, backpacking, biking and exploring the beautiful state on weekends.
