Biography

Shandell Landon has joined the College of Education team at OSU-Cascades as an instructor and recruitment specialist for the MAT program. Although her specialty focus area is special education, she also supports early care and education courses, student academic success courses and a variety of additional education courses. She is passionate about all students finding success and thriving in school and in life. She truly enjoys teaching and being in the classroom with students of all ages. Additionally, through her work as a recruitment specialist, she is supporting the diversification of the student body population and the field of education.

She comes to OSU with more than 10 years of special education classroom experience in grades PK-5 and she has more than 19 years of experience in the field of education working with children from ages birth through adult. Shandell has recently been accepted into the education doctoral program at Portland State University where she will study education leadership with an emphasis in special education policy and leadership. She is also a Certified Master Trainer through Portland State University and supports the field of early care and education through her work with NeighborImpact, Child Care Resources.
 
Shandell is a passionate educator who believes high quality educators are the key to any successful classroom or program. She believes with the proper care and support, all children will thrive, and this is only achieved when educators are passionate, caring and knowledgeable about their students. Shandell comes to OSU-Cascades with extensive experience in the field of special education with an emphasis on inclusive practices and team teaching.  She believes all children deserve to live their best life and have access to the same opportunities with accommodations and modifications as needed.
