Dr. Bowser earned their Ph.D. in Education: Counselor Education and Supervision at the University of Nevada, Reno and her MA in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at New Mexico State University. She currently serves as an Editorial Board Member of the Journal of LGBT Issues in Counseling and is a member of the Sandplay Therapists of America (STA) Temenos Committee. Their scholarly interests include Racial Battle Fatigue, Gendered/Intersectional Microaggressions, Historical and Intergenerational Trauma, and 2SLGBTGIA+ concerns.

Teaching and Supervision Approach
Dr. Bowser’s teaching and counseling supervision approach centers intersectionality, positionality, and cultural humility and is grounded in humanistic-existential approaches. Their pedagogy is influenced by Womanism, Othermothering, and Indigenous Ways of Knowing (IWOK) and centers collaborative learning, reflexivity, and reflectivity.
