A life-long learner with a strong work ethic, I believe that creating a fun, energetic and collaborative classroom is the key to success and happiness. Working in partnership with people who match my enthusiasm, my values and my passion for the hospitality industry, I have been privileged to work and travel all the world.
I’ve worked in many aspects of the hospitality industry — always in some aspect of service management; from an airline catering kitchen in Ireland, to a Wendy's fast food joint in Germany, to a five-star resort in Guam as a management trainee, to starting a chain of seminar chateaux (castles in France, now totaling over 47) to owning a bar in Bend, to working at the International Hotel Association in Paris, to creating a successful sauce company in Bend.
Holding a Hotel & Catering degree, a Travel Agent certification, a Bachelor of Science in Management and a Masters in Hospitality, I have taught at college level for 17+ years (including Wine & Beverage Management, Restaurant Management, Servsafe for the National Restaurant Association, Event Planning & Management, Customer Service Management, Lodging Management & Advanced Hospitality Management).
I currently have the privilege of teaching in the OSU Hospitality Program and at Chemeketa College.
Along with my passion for hospitality (the love of travel, gourmet food and fine wines — what's not to love?), I am a voracious reader, a certified yoga & meditation teacher and a lover of music. I am also fascinated by happiness and have my own retreat company and online courses with over 2,000 students in over 98 countries and 118,000+ followers @AWeeBitHappier.
