Biography

Patrick Donnelly received his Ph.D. in Computer Science from Montana State University in 2015 with a dissertation focused on segmentation and multi-label classification of musical instrument timbre from polyphonic audio. As a postdoctoral researcher in the Emotive Computing Laboratory at the University of Notre Dame he researched the automatic analysis of teachers' instructional practices using acoustic signal processing and machine learning. Prior to joining OSU-Cascades he taught Computer Science at Chico State University.

Research

His primary research interests are deep learning from non-speech audio, educational data mining from audio, large imbalanced datasets, and machine learning in the musical domain.
