Experiential Learning Options

Experiential learning is your chance to turn curiosity into action. Choose from research, internships, teaching practicums, or study abroad experiences and explore biology beyond the textbook while building confidence, connections, and a deeper understanding of what you want to do after graduation.

BMB 401 Research

BMB 401 Research - Take this course if you're curious about how new scientific knowledge is discovered and want to contribute to a research project. You'll work closely with a faculty mentor to investigate real-world biological questions while developing scientific and problem-solving skills. These credits are variable between 1-16 credits.

BMB 410 Internship

BMB 410 Internship - Take this course if you want hands-on experience in a professional setting and to explore potential career paths in biology. You'll apply what you've learned in class while gaining workplace experience, professional connections, and industry-specific skills. These credits are variable between 1-16 credits.

Study Abroad

ABRD 410 Study Abroad - Take this option if you want to combine biology with global experiences and learn through Oregon State University’s Global Opportunities. You'll gain international perspectives, explore unique ecosystems and cultures, and see how biology is applied around the world. These credits are variable between 1-12 credits.
