Museum & Gallery Studies

When we think of art that shapes the galleries and museums of Central Oregon, the first ones that come to mind are that which capture the natural landscape and wildlife of our region. Contemporary spaces in Bend start to challenge this traditional representation through the inclusion of dynamic and expressive works that bring widening perspectives to our community. Organizations like Scalehouse showcase works that utilize non-traditional materials, subject matters, and viewing formats. 

Museum and Gallery studies through RADlab invited students to propose and conduct research centered around these spaces in Central Oregon. What type of art would you like to see introduced into our community? How can we expand the current making processes already at work?
