2026 Tournament Format & Rules

4-Person Scramble Format

This tournament will use a 4-person scramble format with a shotgun start. Each team will be assigned a starting hole prior to the tournament. At the designated start time, all teams will begin play simultaneously from their assigned holes and continue through the course in order.

Up to two foursomes (teams of four players) may be assigned to the same starting hole. Please be courteous, maintain pace of play, and allow the team furthest from the hole to play first when appropriate.

In a scramble format, all four players on a team work together to complete each hole using the best shot each time.

1. Tee Shots

  • All four players tee off on each hole.
  • After everyone hits, the team selects the best shot.
  • The other balls are picked up, and all players hit their next shot from the selected location.
  • Balls should be placed within a reasonable distance (approximately one putter length) of the selected shot and no closer to the hole.

2. Subsequent Shots

  • After each shot, the team will again select the best ball position.
  • All players continue playing from that location until the ball is holed.
  • Teams may discuss strategy and decide together which shot gives them the best opportunity for the next stroke.

3. Putting

  • Once on the green, mark the selected ball position.
  • All players will putt from that same location.
  • The hole is complete once the first player on the team holes the putt.
  • Additional putts are not necessary after the team score has been achieved.

4. Scoring

  • Only one team score is recorded for each hole.
  • The team score equals the total number of team shots taken to hole the ball from the tee.
  • Do not count every individual player’s shots separately (cumulatively).

Example
If:

  • All four players tee off,
  • The team selects one drive,
  • All four players hit from there,
  • One player makes the putt on the third team shot,

Then the team score for the hole is 3.

  • Teams are responsible for accurately recording scores on the official team scorecard.
  • Please turn in your completed scorecard promptly following the tournament.

5. Minimum Drive Requirement

  • Each player must have at least two tee shots/drives selected and used by the team during the tournament.
  • Teams are responsible for tracking this requirement throughout play.

Sportsmanship & Pace of Play
Please help us ensure a fun and efficient tournament experience for everyone:

  • Be respectful of other teams, volunteers, and course staff.
  • Keep pace with the group ahead of you.
  • Limit practice shots and be ready to play when it is your turn.
  • Most importantly, have fun and enjoy the tournament!
