Little Beavs, operated by Oregon State University - Cascades and in partnership with Central Oregon Community College, is reservable campus early care and education. Our license-exempt full-day program is guided by Oregon’s Early Learning Division licensing standards and is informed by the field of Early Childhood Education and its best practices as defined by the National Association for the Education of Young Children. Our program operates license-exempt in our temporary facility and under the operation of a state agency.
Our Little Beavs program has expanded from a pop-up center in 2020 that opened to meet the immediate need during the Covid-19 pandemic to a full day early care and education center with up to 30 enrollment spots. Little Beavs currently operates in a temporary facility, consisting of three programs, infant, toddler and preschool while future plans involve the design, development, and construction of a center with the projected capacity of 80 enrollment spots.
Our role includes:
- Early Care and Education serves campus families from both OSU-Cascades & COCC, including students, faculty, & staff.
- Early Care and Education serves as a practicum site for college students entering the field of Human Development & Family Sciences and Early Childhood Education from both OSU-Cascades and COCC campuses.
Little Beavs welcomes families and students of any race, color, national and ethnic origin to all rights, privileges, programs, and activities available to students in early care and education. Little Beavs does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national or ethnic origin in its administrative, educational, or procedural policies or programs.
As an Eco-Healthy Child Care Facility, endorsed by The Children’s Environmental Health Network (CEHN), Little Beavs Early Care and Education strives to embed eco-friendly practices, materials, and philosophies within our program.
