As a developmental scientist, Dr. Lipscomb examines mechanisms for nurturing resilience with children and families facing adversity. She brings particular expertise in early learning environments (e.g., preschool, child care) and families. With trauma-informed and equity-centered framing, Dr. Lipscomb conducts research to identify and strengthen factors that build resilience within individuals, relationships, and communities. While discovering solutions to issues of global importance Dr. Lipscomb’s work directly benefits Oregonians by informing policy and practice of local and state organizations, such as the Early Learning Hub of Central Oregon, the Oregon Department of Early Learning and Care, the Culture of Care Initiative, and the Central Oregon Health Council.
