This six-day high school summer camp eases you into the college experience, and you'll receive a scholarship doing it. Meet new friends while exploring your college and career interests with university professors and experts. And, it’s summertime in Bend – so we’re getting outside – with daily adventures provided by student leaders.

Choose Your Option

Business & Pop Culture

Session 1: August 2-7

Put your love for shows like “The Office” and “Superstore” to work. Using a pop culture lens, you’ll work with our business professors to apply lessons in ethics, finance and management to the real world.

Art+Media+Tech

Session 1: August 2-7 or Session 2: August 16-21

If you love making videos, designing posters and creating graphics, this is the option for you. Hands-on activities include video and photo editing, graphic design and 3D printing. Experience college-level coursework from our arts, media and technology degree program.

Coding & Sound

Session 1: August 2-7 or Session 2: August 16-21

Learn the basics of computer programming through music and sound. You’ll create a short composition, synthetic instrument or other interactive project using visual programming language. No prior musical knowledge or programming experience required.

Your Body At Work

Session 1: August 2-7 or Session 2: August 16-21

From exercise testing to the science of performance enhancement to the physiology of superheroes and villains, this is a great option if you’re thinking about a career in health sciences or are a student athlete.

Write for the Web

Session 2: August 16-21

Your writing skills are marketable in this digital age! Spend the week writing for social media, creating funny memes, and developing web and blog content. Have fun honing your craft in a university setting.

Daily Outdoor Adventures

  

All summer camp options include daily outdoor recreation trips led by trained students and staff from our outdoor recreation program Cascades Adventures and by community partners. Activities include paddleboarding, hiking, climbing, low-ropes initiatives and more. No experience required.

College Scholarship

Students who complete the Summer Academy will each receive a $500 scholarship* to OSU-Cascades. The scholarship can be applied toward tuition for the fall term immediately following graduation from high school.

*Scholarship limited to $500 per student maximum.  Additional scholarships are not available for repeat participation.

Overnight or Day Options Available

Stay in our state-of-the-art residence hall and experience college living. You’re also welcome to commute daily.

Overnight or Day Options Available

Stay in our state-of-the-art residence hall and experience college living. You’re also welcome to commute to Summer Academy daily for 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. programming.

Cost of Attendance

Overnight Option - $949, includes:

  • 6 days of programming with daily classes in selected option and outdoor recreation trips including transportation and equipment
  • 5 nights of accommodations in OSU-Cascades residence hall supervised by live-in conference housing resident advisor staff and camp chaperones
  • 5 nights of evening programming in residence hall
  • Linens for stay (Sheet set, light blanket, pillow, towels)
  • All meals + snacks
