Summer Student Employment
Summer Academy gives high school students a positive residential summer camp experience thanks to OSU students like you! Join our team, co-design our youth program, and gain real-world experience (plus get paid to do it).
We have two positions available for continuing OSU students: Lead Counselor and Camp Counselor. Both positions include spring virtual training and summer in-person camp sessions.
- Virtual Training: March 30-June 14, 2026
- In-Person Pre-Camp Training: July 18, 2026
- Summer Camp Sessions: July 19-24, 2026 and July 26-31, 2026
Lead Counselor
Description: Acting as a liaison between camp leadership and counselors, Lead Camp Counselors support task delegation, camper conflict resolution, schedule/time management, and activity facilitation. This position requires strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills, along with a commitment to creating a safe, positive, and engaging environment for all campers and staff.

Pay Rate:
- Spring, virtual: $19/hour
- Summer, in-person: $21/hour*
*also includes single bedroom-private bathroom lodging, all camp meals, and staff apparel.

Camp Counselor
Description: Camp Counselors are responsible for facilitating activities, ensuring camper safety and well-being, and fostering a welcoming and inclusive environment.
