Commencement Traffic Update: Leave Early, Follow Detour

Due to a weekend triathalon event in Bend, road closures, including a portion of SW Century Drive, are planned near the OSU-Cascades campus beginning 6 a.m. on June 18.

Allow extra time for travel and follow these travel recommendations:

  • From 97 N or S: Take Exit 138, turn right onto SW Colorado Avenue. At first roundabout, turn right onto SW Simpson Avenue and follow signage to event parking.
  • Avoid Reed Market Road where lengthy delays are anticipated.

We know that family and friends are important to our students. We have an initial maximum of 12 tickets per graduate. Tickets will be available for pickup at Tykeson Hall. Gates open at 9 a.m. for the event.

In line with our sustainability efforts we encourage all of your guests to bring their own reusable water bottles. No fill sites will be available.

Concessions will not be available, however there are a variety of restaurants around and near campus.

Tips for a Comfortable Commencement

Weather in Central Oregon can be unpredictable. To ensure a comfortable commencement, consider dressing in layers.  Bring sunscreen, hats, and other items to shade from direct sunlight. Due to the unique climate of Bend, it can be windy, and may be a little dusty at the Oval Green.
