Conference User Guide

Building and Room Access

  • Key cards will be issued for residence hall and room access upon check in.
  • Key cards are required for access to elevators and the central stairwell.
  • Building doors are open from 8am – 4:30pm. Key card is required for access from 4:30pm-8am.
  • There is a $25 fee for each lost or damaged card.

Conference Meals

  • Meals must be purchased via OSU-Cascades EDGE Catering, the on-campus caterer.
  • Residence Hall key cards doubles as the participant meal card.

Common Area Kitchens

  • 2 microwaves
  • 1 oven
  • 1 fridge
  • 1 sink

Laundry Rooms

  • 4 washers and dryers are FREE for use by conference guests.
  • Guests must supply their own laundry detergent or purchase it from the Beaver Dam Dining Hall located in Obsidian Hall.

Study Rooms

  • Study rooms are ideally suited for small group meetings or reflection time. 
  • Study rooms are equipped with a table, chairs, and a white board
  • Study rooms are air conditioned

Wi-Fi

  • Wi-Fi is available is available throughout the residence hall including guest rooms.
  • Wi-Fi network is “Visitor”. Access is available one the Wi-fi terms and conditions have been accepted.

Alcohol and Drug Policy

  • No hard alcohol is allowed on campus
  • Alcohol may only be consumed in the residence hall guest rooms by guests 21 and over.
  • Alcohol may not be consumed or stored outside of private rooms. 
  • Alcohol should not be stored in shared kitchen refrigerators or guest room windowsills.
  • OSU-Cascades in a smoke free and tobacco free campus. No smoking of any substance, including vape pens, is allowed.
  • Marijuana and related paraphernalia are strictly prohibited anywhere on OSU-Cascades property. Violation will result in guest removal from the residence hall.

Check-Out Process

  • Guests must remove all personal items from their room.
  • Trash must be emptied in trash receptacles located in the hallway near the elevator.
  • Place all linens in the marked bin located in the hallway near the elevator.
  • Room keys must be deposited in the white box located on the 1st floor near the front desk. There is a $25 fee for lost or unreturned keys.

Safety and Security

  • Do not prop open any residence hall doors.
  • All residence hall visitors must be accompanied by a registered guest.
  • Guests should contact 911 in the event of an emergency.
  • Guests should contact campus safety at (541) 322-3110 if they witness any suspicious activity.
  • Guests should contact the resident assistant at (541) 640-9963 if they get locked out of their room.
  • Window safely latches in guest rooms must stay latched except in the event of an emergency.
