Once you complete this program, discover all the learning outcomes you'll achieve.
Exercise Physiology Minor (54 credits)
The kinesiology program offers a minor in exercise physiology for non-kinesiology majors. Kinesiology majors may not add the exercise physiology minor. With an emphasis on movement and the functioning of human body due to exercise, the exercise physiology minor is an excellent addition for students interested in incorporating fitness and wellness into their major, or for those who love to exercise and be active and want to understand more about how the body responds.
Careers

Internship Spotlight

Finding strength through riding
OSU-Cascades guarantees hands-on learning opportunities. At Healing Reins Therapeutic Riding Center, kinesiology major Hailey Hendrickson ’23 applied her biomechanics coursework to help riders with diverse abilities build strength, balance and mobility. The hands-on experience was both meaningful and moving, showing her the real impact of her skills in people’s lives.
Lab Spotlight

Cutting-edge research
As a kinesiology student, you can intern at the FORCE Lab, where faculty and students develop cutting-edge strategies to prevent and treat injuries, especially knees, ankles and hips. The lab’s focus on human movement makes it a perfect match for Central Oregon’s community of elite and recreational athletes.
Experiential Learning Spotlight

The science of snowboarding
Through SnoPlanks Academy — where OSU-Cascades students run a real-world snowboard business — Kyle Fairbanks helped design a snowboard tailored for women riders. Using force plate and motion capture technology in the FORCE Lab, Kyle gathered center-of-mass data to determine the ideal board size.
