BI 401 Research
BI 401 Research - Take this course if you’re pursuing academic research with a faculty member. The hours and expectations are arranged with the faculty through overseeing the research. These credits are variable between 1-16 credits.
BI 410 Internship
BI 410 Internship – Take this course to get “hand-on” experience in a work setting. Internship experiences may include shadowing, assisting with data collection, operational tasks at the site, interacting with clients, and more! As part of your internship, you will submit assignments reflecting on your experience and designing/implementing a project or program at your site. Internships need to be pre-arranged and approved in advance. These credits are variable between 1-16 credits.
Study Abroad
Take courses abroad to gain international hands-on experience through Oregon State University’s Global Opportunities. International opportunities include conserving cheetahs in Namibia, participating in marine and wildlife conservation projects in South Africa, studying animal science in New Zealand, or conducting molecular and cellular biology research in the Czech Republic. Study abroad opportunities need to be pre-planned and pre-approved; see the Global Opportunities for Biology and Zoology majors. These credits are variable between 1-12 credits.
