The Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) program at OSU-Cascades will prepare you for a rewarding career as a physical therapist. You'll study at a top research university in state-of-the-art classrooms and labs, and then apply what you learn in the world-class physical therapy clinics throughout the state and across the United States. Mission
The Doctor of Physical Therapy program at OSU-Cascades provides exceptional research and teaching faculty to support outstanding students in becoming compassionate entry-level clinician-scientists. Our students bring a diversity of thought, background, and experience to the program and translate that into the ability to positively impact a diverse population in a changing healthcare environment. The DPT program at OSU-Cascades fosters innovation and promotes sustainability of the health care system and communities in Central Oregon and beyond, now and into the future.

Our program director
Dr. Alexadra Borstad joined the Doctor of Physical Therapy Program at OSU-Cascades in 2024 where she is a Clinical Professor and serves as the program director. Specializing in care for people with neurologic dysfunction, Borstad was a clinician for fifteen years before earning her Masters degree and then Ph.D. from The Ohio State University in 2012. She completed post-doctoral training in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at Ohio State and joined the DPT Program faculty at The Ohio State University in 2013. In 2016, Borstad joined the Doctor of Physical Therapy Program at the College of St. Scholastica in Duluth, Minnesote where in addition to teaching in Neurologic and Research portions of the curriculum she served as the program Research Coordinator.
