Information for Residence Hall Students
Mail & Package Services
Incoming/Return Address Format
OSU-Cascades students who live in the Residence Hall may receive mail and packages at the Mail & ID Center.
Please use the following address format:

Resident students do not need to list their mailbox or room number in the address format.
Names on packages and letters must be the name used officially with the University.
Letter Mail
Each resident student will be assigned a mailbox. The mailbox number and corresponding combination can be found in the MyHousing portal. Students must check their own mailboxes and will not receive delivery notifications for letter mail.
Package Pick-Up
Resident students will receive an OSU email alert when a package delivery is received. Text alerts are also available. Package deliveries can only be claimed during our open hours. The addressee must pick up their own packages.
US Postal Service Outgoing Letter Mail
A letter drop slot for pre-postmarked USPS mail is located in the Mail & ID Center lobby. Correct postage is required. The Mail & ID Center does not provide stamps or shipping supplies to students.
Identification Cards
In order to obtain an OSU Cascades ID card, you must present proper identification (Valid Driver's License, State ID card, Military ID, Passport, or Permanent Resident Card) and have your photo taken at the Mail & ID Center. You also must have status as a student, staff or faculty member.
Please do not wear a hat, sunglasses, or any other item/clothing that obscures your face.
The ID card officially identifies the cardholder as an OSU-Cascades student, employee, authorized contractor or associate. The ID card may also be used to:
- Access campus doors and key boxes
- Provide payment at automated printing stations
- Reserve items at the OSU-Cascades Library
- Ride the Cascades East Transit (CET) CET Public Transit
- Attend OSU-Cascades events
- Make purchases in the Beaver Dam Café and Study Grounds coffee shop*
*with an Orange Cash debit plan online at OSU MyCard
Replacement Fee
The fee for a replacement card is $25. Please pay at the cashier and bring receipt to the Mail & ID Center. ID cards that are determined to have malfunctioned due to a manufacturing flaw or age will be replaced free of charge. ID cards should last for approximately four years without the need for replacement.
Please do not bend or punch holes in your ID card or otherwise damage the magnetic strip or barcode. Damage will result in a replacement fee.
Lost and Found ID Cards
Lost or stolen ID cards should be immediately reported to the OSU-Cascades Public Safety to protect your card account from unauthorized use. Any use of funds before an ID card is reported lost/stolen will be the responsibility of the cardholder.
If you find an ID card that is not yours, please turn it in to Public Safety.
Door Access Using ID Cards
Please see the Hours, Maps, Directions page to learn about OSU-Cascades hours. You will need your card to get into buildings when they are closed to the general public.
