Living Communities

About Our Living Communities

Living Communities are built around common interests but not tied to any specific academic program. Students who opt to live in these communities commit to abiding by the specifics regulations of that program. Unless otherwise specified, locations for these programs within the residence hall will be identified prior to room selection once we have a better understanding of the demand for the programs.

Below are the Living Communities we are offering for the 2024-2025 Academic Year. Students will have an opportunity to express interest in Living Communities when they apply for housing.

First Living Learning Community

TRIO Student Support Services is partnering with Residential Education and Housing to provide a Living-Learning community (LLC) in OSU-Cascades 2nd floor. The First LLC is intended for students who are first-generation, are eligible for the Pell Grant or have high financial need.

Participants live in an academically supportive environment with others who have shared lived experiences. This opportunity is open to both incoming and continuing students.

The First LLC provides many opportunities to student participants, including scholarship workshops, study groups and peer support. Dedicated Housing student staff members are available as resources and mentors.

The First LLC is committed to inclusive excellence and celebrates the value diversity brings to the educational experience, including race, ethnicity, gender identity, gender expression, sexual orientation, ability, religion, socioeconomic status, and more.

Gender Inclusive Housing

Gender Inclusive Housing offers a supportive environment for members of the LGBTQIA+ community and allies. This is also an option for students who prefer not to restrict roommate/suitemate matches based on gender identity.

Honors College Community

Our Honors College Community is a supportive environment for students admitted to the Honors College. Students will live with roommates and suitemates who share common academic goals and ambitions.
